Stories From Tea Time - Alex Novak

Having joined the tea time group, I was able to learn many stories from lives of elderly people who lived in Ticino all their lives.In particular I was interested in stories told by signora Fontana.It turns out life of Swiss people was completely different from what I imagined it to be. People's lives were simple, without any conveniences of everyday life we are able to enjoy nowadays. From an early age children had to help their parents at home. Also school was not as important as it is today,since people finished only a few classes. Most of ones life happened in the community that person lived in; cars were not available, and if you had to go somewhere you would have to travel by feet. Furthermore, I really enjoyed stories by signora Yolanda who shared with us her adventures of the Lugano night life. It turns out, our generation is not the only one who enjoys dancing! Signora Yolanda would quietly sneak out from her house to go dancing. She is a woman who certainly enjoys adventures. Overall, I really enjoyed the time I spent listening to fascinating stories of the two ladies, and I really look forward to hear more from other people.

Quando mi sono iscritto al gruppo di Teat Time, ho capito che avevo la possibilita di sentire delle storie interessanti raccontate da persone anziane chi abitano in Ticino per tutta la loro vita. Nel nostro ultimo incontro noi avevamo il piacere di incontrare due signore che abitano a Montagnola, e le storie di Signora Fontata mi sono piacuti tantissimo. Ho scoperto che le vite delle persone anziane in Svizzera erano molto diverse di come l'imagginavo. Le vita quotidiana era molto semplice, ma anche difficile. I bambini dovevano sempre aiutare i loro genitori, e la scuola non era cosi importante come e al giorno d'oggi. Le persone finivano gli studi dopo tre anni. Siccome le macchine non erano disponibile, le persone dovevano camminare per raggiungere il centro della citta. Inoltre, le storie della signora Yolanda erano veramente divertentissimi. Ho scoperta che la nostra generazione non e la sola a chi piace ballare. Quando signora Yolanda era giovane, lei scappava di casa per andare a ballare.Spero di sentire delle storie interessante anche la prossima volta!
